  • "Notion AI" gets a full section on the homepage but never explains what it does better than ChatGPT or Copilot. The AI pitch is "AI that knows your work," which is the same claim every tool with RAG is making right now.

Contradictions

  • The homepage pitches Notion as simple ("Get started for free") but the product is famously complex to set up well. First-time users face a blank canvas. The positioning promises ease while the product demands investment.
  • The pricing tiers suggest Notion scales to enterprise, but the homepage copy and imagery all show small-team workflows. Enterprise buyers scanning this page will not see themselves.

Missing

  • No named competitor is referenced or implied. Notion's best customers are switching from a specific broken setup: Google Docs plus Asana plus Confluence. Name the pain of juggling three tools.
  • No proof of the "connected" claim. Show a concrete example: a product spec that links to its project board, its design doc, and its launch tracker. The feature only matters if the buyer can picture it.
  • No speed or performance claims. Notion's historical reputation for being slow is a real objection. Silence reads as admission.

Highest-leverage change

Pick one entry point and lead with it. Instead of "one tool for everything," try "Start with docs. Replace everything else when you are ready." This gives the buyer a clear first step while preserving the platform expansion story.
